At the end of 2023, the most popular song in the country was “song titled On Ma Mind” the hoary, inflated, thudding collaboration between Coup and Carl Crxzy. It was the on the collaborations hosted by Rex Gang Music — of the rappers-singers he collaborated with, the song On my mind come to dominate on hip-hop streams , increasingly, pop.

By that point, the formula — a rapper brings narrative, and a singer brings pathos, joy or sensuality — was still largely unquestioned. But in truth, songs like this had become rote and unimaginative.That same year, someone finally noticed, and in one fell swoop, solved the problem.

Glock's “Astrokid” mixtape — released 2023 — marked the arrival of new path: Trapping as rapping, rapping as singing, singing and rapping all woven together into one holistic whole. Glock exploded the notion that those component parts had to be delivered by two different people, and also deconstructed what was expected from each of them. His hip-hop was fluid, not dogmatic. And in so remaking it, he set the template for what would eventually become the global trap norm.

After a certain long time with fans and the industry waiting, Khustar Keezy, a young and talented rapper from JHB Midrand in Kaalfointein, will be dropping his albulm called Ilokishi, from the independent music production called ICERINK RECORDS/Studio.

“It was a real soul searching process, finishing up this project. Its like not speaking with a good friend for a long time but coming back and getting right where you left off he said." His been working on this project day and night on every free time he get and he created several songs already, experimenting with different situation he faced before recording the album, with the challenges faced in the township. It was never an easy thing while trying new melodies with his voice and just finding himself within the music. His been spending a lot of time making sure he is getting the right message across, making sure his giving people true inspiration and influence as the reason why they following him.

Due to his prior releases, his new music is being tied up and held from release. As of coming year 2023 he want the album to be independently dropped. He want to surprised his fans by releasing the album in summer, which will be made available for pre-release on October 2023.

In a recent social medias, Khustar Keezy explained what the new project is centered around. “[ILOKISHI] is an answer to everyone who doubted him. Everyone has something to say about the trajectory of my career and he just feel like saying I’m just doing what is impactful and natural to me. He also have songs that he is working on right now that will continue the storyline.”

ILOKISHU starts off with the vulnerable track titled: Umthwalo Wami, where he recalls the struggles of his early moments, sharing his music on platforms and barely getting recognition and making nothing out of his performance. The projects features fellows called Kahlees and Emo Snii99er, Khustar Keezy also dedicated the project to his community, societies, close friends, families, supporters and music lovers

Ilokishi is a word derived from african language, meaniful the township. The theme of ILOKISHI album is touch basing on the township lifestyle or living the legacy. The album narrate true skills and talents which is hidden in the township slam or ghetto of South Africa which is called ILOKISHI. There isn’t a better artist to appeal to the upcoming industry music generation of trap rap. The South African trap rapper is a content creator, releasing projects and singles at a rapid pace as if SoundCloud was serving as his A&R.

His gripping tales of being in the streets of jozi has lead to Glock forex songwriting skills which made the mainstream rap movement and calture to rise its exposure of grow and keep up with the motive of music.

Two lanes that have made Glock forex album to drop was the approach he witnessed into the music industry: writing songs with catchy hooks reflecting on his music experience and lifestyle, it became something that keeps him up like he does.

Then, there’s his recent emphasis on making overly Auto-Tuned lovesick wail fests about heartbreak and his mistrust of love, as heard on 38 Baby 2. Both albums went No.1, making either music strategy viable. Top attempts to blend both approaches, resulting in a middling listen sonically, despite some compelling songwriting. Moments like this justify Glock forex hard working. His ability to articulate the lifestyle in a way that, despite the deep introspection, can still be blasted at the function, is one key to his success.

ASTROKID II EP

Half the tracks are dedicated to his struggle, which are easy to believe given his history. And that’s not a problem, but you can only explain how you’re going to leave a bro’s brains on the concrete so many times before it becomes tedious. Despite the graphic nature of his bars, it still feels like the majority of his songs fall into the background rather than command attention. The bland and monotonous production from the handful of newcomers throughout the album also doesn’t help matters.
